Hangman vor Albertina

2022

We all must. Die.
Death is one of the few constants, if not the only one, in our lives. Nevertheless, it is difficult to consciously perceive the individual finiteness.
“Hangman” is a modern translation of dance macabre. An invitation to look closer, to profoundly deal with death. Order and choice of colour introduce the subject to the viewer in an understandable way. It is an appeal to reintegrate the finite into our everyday consciousness.

“Action-Prepotence Young Artists” in front of the Albertina, August 26th, 2022, 5:30 p.m.
“Hangman 1” was hung in front of the Albertina Museum on my own initiative and unannounced.
A week later the installation was exhibited by the institution itself in the exhibition rooms of the Albertina, Chobot Collection.
The intention of the action was not primarily to criticize the institution. Much rather, an invitation to a conversation at eye level. Therefore, an anarchist gesture was actively avoided and replaced with humor.
